What distinguishes Hardy from the competition is that Hardy continue to make spare parts and spools for older and discontinued rods and reels. Anglers worldwide tell us that they would rather acquire new equipment with security such as this, as opposed to reels and rods that once broken, cannot be fixed. Below is a listing of non-current spools we carry in inventory.

Many of our best selling reels have a spring and pawl drag design. We recommend that you change the springs every three to four years for moderate use. Sooner, if you’re an active angler. Current and non-current reels are listed below with corresponding spring and pawl repair kits. "A" packs contain only springs and pawls. "C" packs contain springs, pawls, line guard screws, latch screws and latch spring. It is a good idea to keep a back-up "C" pack for each reel in you kit. "D" packs contain check wheel caps for the back of the spools to keep grease contained. "E" packs contain reel counter balances, which are recommended for our bigger salmon and steelhead reels.
