Hardy Swift Mk II Fly Reel
The
original Swift was a favorite of professional fly fishermen. Men like
Stuart Crofts and Dave Parker swore by the hard-working qualities of one
of the toughest reels we'd ever made. The Swift MkII improves on the
original - it's now even tougher, with a 4 millimeter screw reel seat
for increased rigidity and a more durable metal handle. Internally, the
legendary drag system has been re-examined, overhauled and improved. As
Stuart Croft says, “It has a drag that’s spot on. It’s precise and I
trust it absolutely - even though it spends more time in the water than
out.” New for 2008 is the 900 size. This is a three to five weight reel
that brings Swift performance to the light line angler.
The
disc brake features a rugged, central drag knob, perfect for easy
adjustment and stopping big fish, while the floating clutch gives
one of the easiest left- to righthand conversions made. On the two
largest salmon reels we have even made the spools interchangeable.
This allows you to buy one cage and vary the spool size to increase
versatility.
